This past Summer Epoch’s Home Office launched a new goal to give back to our community. Our employees were excited not only for the opportunity to contribute to local organizations in need, but also for the chance at some traditional team building. Read more to see where we were able to start spreading our #EpochPride.
As school started throughout Central Florida this past Fall, Epoch Residential’s Home Office was busy raising funds to support A Gift for Teaching. For the months of August and September, Home Office employees were able to dress down with a donation towards the program. The company matched all employee proceeds with a total contribution of $600 to A Gift for Teaching!
We were also able to get two separate groups to sort food donations at Second Harvest Food Bank’s facility in west Orlando this past August. Second Harvest is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties. In 2018, with the help of donors, volunteers and the community at large the food bank distributed nearly 63 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes.
In October, Epoch took it outside and got to work with Habitat for Humanity. Our first group of volunteers met onsite to assist in building a house in the Silver Pines neighborhood. For this event, team members from our Construction and Property Management departments were able to step away from their respective communities and join the Home Office. The group completed various tasks including sanding and painting, installing low voltage wiring and watering landscaping. The team had such a great time we’ve already scheduled 2 more dates to assist in another build with Habitat for Humanity.
Epoch’s entire team is looking forward to continuing our new initiative and discovering more ways to give back to our community.
