James H. Pugh Jr. is the Chairman Emeritus of Epoch Residential. Born in Winter Haven, Florida, Mr. Pugh has served as a United States Army Ranger and Special Forces Commander. He is a distinguished ROTC graduate of the University of Florida where he earned a B.S. in Building Construction and is a member of Florida Blue Key Honorary and Scabbard & Blade Honorary societies. He is presently serving in leadership roles on numerous civic and charitable boards, including:

  • Member of the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans
  • Chairman, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
  • Member of the Board of Directors, Holocaust Memorial Center
  • Member of the Board of Directors, University of Florida Foundation
  • Member of the Board of Trustees, Bob Graham Center for Public Service, University of Florida

During his 16-year tenure with Epoch Residential, Justin has served in various roles in the financing, development and construction of over 10,000 apartment homes in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Arizona with a total capitalization in excess of one billion dollars. In 2019, Justin purchased the company from founder and industry icon, Jim Pugh. As new Principal of Epoch, Justin is focused on corporate strategy and team development, while remaining active in investor relations, site selection, and oversight of all facets of project execution. Prior to joining Epoch, Justin worked for Hunt Construction Group (now AECOM), a large scale, commercial contractor. Justin received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.  He is licensed as a Florida Certified General Contractor, a Florida Real Estate Broker, a single-engine private pilot and has been involved in numerous civic boards and organizations, including the Bergstrom Real Estate Center Advisory Board at the University of Florida.

Allyson Chiappa is the Executive Vice President of Epoch Residential.  She is responsible for coordinating operations across development, construction, property management and accounting to maximize efficiency and drive performance both corporately and at the asset level.  Allyson manages all corporate due diligence, risk management and maintains relationships with all key business partners. In addition, she oversees the acquisition and disposition transactions of Epoch-owned communities.  Allyson joined Epoch in 2004 and has served in various leadership roles within the company, most recently as Director of Asset Management. During her 16-year tenure with Epoch, Allyson has supported the development, construction and operation of over 10,000 apartment units across multiple states. Allyson holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Central Florida and is a member of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance.

Carl's 25 years of experience in Construction Management and General Contracting encompasses multifamily, institutional, commercial and hospitality industries. He has completed agile/lean construction industry training and is an Agile Throughput Executive, along with being experienced and certified in Total Quality Management. Carl earned his bachelor's degree at Kean University in New Jersey. As an industry leader, Carl oversees all Construction Operations for Epoch Residential. His responsibilities include ensuring each project is taken from development through pre-construction to completion, turning over to property management on-time and within budget. Carl works closely with his on-site teams to manage production, scheduling and management and supervision of all trades.

Tommy joins Epoch as an industry veteran with over 16 years of experience in a variety of facets including multifamily, office and retail development, as well as commercial property appraising. As Vice President of Development, Tommy’s focus will be on managing the development department, including site and market selection, capital sourcing, team building, cross department coordination, and process improvement. Prior to Epoch, Tommy served as founder and President of Inlet Property Company and as Executive Vice President of MMI Development, where he specialized in ground up development, Owner’s representation and investment advisory, primarily focusing on Class A multifamily assets. Tommy is a Florida Native and received his undergraduate degree in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate from the University of Central Florida. He is also a Florida State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and a Licensed Florida Real Estate Salesperson.

Katrina Hull started with Epoch over 24 years ago as a Staff Accountant and has held several roles prior to her most recent promotion to Vice President of Accounting. New responsibilities will include oversight of all accounting functions within the Development and Construction departments, while Katrina will continue to oversee all accounting and financial functions as it pertains to Epoch's Management portfolio. Throughout her tenure, Katrina has gained experience in construction and job cost accounting, timeshare accounting, residential property and corporate accounting. Katrina holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.

Chris joined Epoch in January of 2020 and brings over 12 years of experience to the team. As Land Development Manager, Chris focuses on identifying and sourcing opportunities suitable for the development of Class A market-rate apartments across targeted markets. His responsibilities include market research and analysis, due diligence, contract negotiation, land acquisition, obtaining entitlements as well as coordinating with the development team throughout the due diligence process.  Since joining Epoch, Chris continues to build a network of brokers, landowners and other parties interested in the disposition of real property. In his previous roles, Chris served as the Managing Principal of several smaller real estate companies that participated in investment and development opportunities across a multitude of asset classes. Chris is a Central Florida native and a Rollins College graduate, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication. Chris is also a licensed Florida real estate broker as well as an ALC and CCIM candidate. He is also an active participant in ULI and NMHC.

Andrew McKinley joined Epoch in May of 2020 bringing over 10 years of experience to the team. In his role as Asset Manager, Andrew serves as the ownership liaison for Epoch-owned properties. He establishes lease up goals and parameters to be executed by the management team, performs on-going market research and analysis across Epoch asset disposition phases, handles strategic management of property budgets, and develops financial analysis and reports at the asset level. In his previous roles, Andrew has held positions with industry leaders Fore Property Company, Greystar, Pegasus Residential and Simply Self Storage while providing services to equity partners such as Brookfield Asset Management and TIAA. Andrew is a Florida native and holds a B.S. in Finance from the Florida State University and a Master of Real Estate Development degree from Auburn University.

Sara Montuori joined Epoch in early 2017 as the Director of Marketing. In her role Sara is responsible for the overall marketing strategy and performance for each Epoch property as well as for Epoch Residential. Sara provides careful detail and tailored strategies unique to properties in the various stages of development, lease-up and stabilization. Sara works with the Management team closely to monitor campaign performance, evaluate new tools and drive traffic and leads to each property. She has a solid background in marketing and branding with over 16 years of experience. Most recently she marketed a portfolio of 21 properties in North Florida for Greystar. Prior to the multi-family industry, Sara held marketing roles with several shopping centers in the Central Florida area as well as with Pulte Homes. Sara holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Central Florida and is a member of The College of Business Alumni Association.

Nicole recently joined Epoch in the spring of 2019 and has quickly made lasting positive contributions to the company. She has successfully revamped and implemented our new-hire orientation program, taken on the leadership role to foster company culture and team building and provided coaching and support to employees throughout. Nicole has moved swiftly throughout her career starting as an intern and receiving two promotions reaching Senior Human Resources Representative while at former employer, Quality Custom Distribution. Nicole received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2015 and her M.S. in Management, Human Resources Track from the University of Central Florida in 2018. Nicole is also HR Safety Manager certified and studying to receiver her PHR, while also maintaining membership with the Society for Human Resource Management
